Kenya Medical Practitioners Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) Secretary General Dr Ouma Oluga has criticized the government in the recent wake of arrests in the country.
According to Oluga, the arrests made revolve around those who disagree with the government and the arrests are subsequently followed by illegal detainment.
On a tweet on Monday, Oluga believes the government is exercising dictatorship thereby testing the tolerance of Kenyans to that form pf leadership.
However, Oluga believes the solution to dictatorship can only come from Kenyans who he says have already been divided.
"The state is arresting people with whom they disagree and detaining them illegally to test how far Kenyans can tolerate dictatorship. So if you're waiting for magic to stop authoritarian rule, that magic lies with Kenyans. But the same state has divided them," tweeted Oluga.
After the controversially swearing-in of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, two legislators and a lawyer have been arrested and taken in for questioning.
The three are Ruaraka Mp TJ Kajwang', Makadara Mp George Aladwa and lawyer Miguna Miguna who is still in police custody.
