Former Parliament Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim on Thursday told National Super Alliance (NASA) supporters to remain united ahead of the August elections.
Maalim who is eyeing the Garissa Township parliamentary seat said contrary to speculation that the five NASA principals will part ways, Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetangula (Ford Kenya) and Isaac Ruto (CCM) have exhibited a rare show of unity that signals victory in August 8.
“Change has come,” Maalim who was speaking to NASA supporters at Nairobi’s Uhuru Park on Thursday said.
He was attending a rally where NASA unveiled its presidential line up.
“They said our principals would part ways. Their prayers have not been answered. Let’s remain united, let’s come out on August 8 and vote,” he added.
During the event Mr Odinga was named NASA presidential flag bearer while Mr Musyoka will be his running mate.
Mudavadi, in case NASA takes over government after the polls will take up the position of Premier Cabinet Secretary while Mr Wetangula and Mr Ruto will deputize him.
The unveiling of the line up now settles dust among opposition supporters who were anxious to know who will fly the coalition’s presidential flag and take on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto during the fourth coming general election.
