The lobby group, led by lawyer Abubakar Yusuf, have registered their fears over their lives following the heinous act meted out to their colleague after he left a court precinct in Machakos County by suspected rogue police officers.

According to Radio Rahma, the lobby group is planning to hold peaceful demonstration Monday starting from the Mombasa law courts to the KNCHR offices in the county to force Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to arrest the suspects.

"These deaths are gradually turning Kenya into a police state whereby suspects carry out crimes and are allowed to walk scot free," said Abubakar.

The human rights group were speaking to journalists during a press briefing at the Mombasa human rights headquarters where they were accompanied by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.
