President Uhuru Kenyatta has called on the North Eastern Kenya region to re-elect him during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Saturday during a Jubilee Party rally in Garissa, the Head of State drummed up support for his reelection, defending his track record as President for the past four and a half years.
He further refuted claims by Opposition coalition NASA that his government had failed to issue identification cards to the locals.
“We have resolved the ID card problem by ensuring all genuine Kenyans get the document. We have also connected Garissa county to the national grid and started major road construction projects in the region,” he stated.
He took a swipe on NASA Deputy presidential candidate Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of doing nothing to the region when he served in senior government positions.
“Kalonzo is your neighbour next door and he was in government for 35 years. Give me a single project he has done for the residents of Garissa or Northeastern. As for Mudavadi, he joined the Cabinet immediately he completed his university education, but has little to show in terms of development,” he said.
