Outa accused Nkaisery of acting from misleading directives from the executive which are meant to intimidate the opposition.

The MP who was responding to the recent withdrawal of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho's security said move was dangerous and would expose leaders to security threats.

“How would you wake up one day and pinpoint one person saying he needs to surrender his security if this is not politically motivated?” posed Outa when he addressed local administration leaders from his constituency on Monday.

He said the CS ought to have given official communication to all the VIPs that their security would be withdrawn or reduced, instead of doing the same and making statements later.

“We are worried by this act and as the Opposition we have made it clear that should anything happen to Joho, the government will be responsible,” he said.

Nkaissery recently indicated that the government was concerned with the big number of police officers guarding VIPs, saying it was time to reduce them, starting with Joho.

The move has since witnessed criticism with the Opposition claiming that Joho’s tough stand against the Jubilee government during the Malindi Constituency by-election could have been the cause for his woes, which has seen him directed to surrender his gun too.

“Mr Nkaissery you were recently in the Opposition and you should not think that getting into the government is all you need to do all the ill to your previous comrade. Sober up and read the constitution well before you act,” Outa said.
