Nyando MP Fred Outa has asked government to reveal to Kenyans the number of KDF soldiers who died in Somalia.

Outa said the government owes Kenyans the truth and should not continue hiding the number of soldiers who lost their lives during the early dawn attack on a KDF camp at El Adde in Somalia.

“We are being taken in circles over the Somalia attack, President Uhuru Kenyatta should be able to face Kenyans and tell them the truth about the attack,” said Outa.

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy leaders are pushing for government to withdraw soldiers from Somalia.

Outa was speaking during the annual Jaramogi Oginga and Fidel Odinga memorial service in Bondo on Saturday.

Nominated MP Oburu Odinga accused President Uhuru of failing to protect its citizens.

“The Somalian Parliament already passed a motion seeking to push Kenyan soldiers away from their country, why is President Kenyatta not withdrawing our troops from where we are not needed?” posed Oburu.

He added: “The Somalian government regards our troops as an occupational force and do not need us anymore in their country.”

The nominated MP said many youth had lost their lives and will continue doing so if the troops are not withdrawn from Somalia.
