The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is ill-prepared to conduct the fresh presidential election ordered by the Supreme Court.

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula said the claims of internal division in the electoral agency, as revealed by a former IEBC commissioner Roselyne Akombe, cannot be ignored.

"We cannot simply wish away Akombe's sentiments because when the toad leaves the water and tells you the crocodile is sick, you better believe it," the NASA co-principal said.

The Senator further called on Kenyans to shun the repeat poll set for Thursday, saying the impartiality of the Wafula Chebukati-led commission has been compromised.

"October 26 presidential election would be a futile effort by IEBC to salvage its image. Kenyans should not participate in the exercise whose outcome has been pre-determined," Wetang'ula added.
