Education stakeholders in Bondo sub-county have expressed concern over frequent transfer of Principals from Nyamira Girls’ High school.
Led by KNUT Bondo branch Executive Secretary Mr. Gilbert Ndolo Owuor, the education stakeholders wondered why three new principals have been posted to and transferred from the school in the last six months.
In late December last year when the government through the Ministry of Education introduced the teachers’ de-localisation policy, Nyamira Girls High school received a new Principal Mrs. Eve Odhiambo from Ogande Girls High school after the then Principal Mrs. Jenipher Otolo left.
Since then the school has received two more new Principals including Mrs. Dora Okal who came from Nyakach Girls High school but was allegedly interdicted before another Principal Jesicah Ambasa from Nasakol Girls’ secondary school was brought last week.
Mr. Ndolo who was addressing journalists at their offices in Bondo town, expressed fears that the school’s performance may fall this year due to the frequent transfers.
The Executive Secretary argues that this is likely to kill the teachers’ morale thereby affecting performance.
He has therefore petitioned the school’s Board of Management to move with speed and investigate what could be wrong at the learning institution.
Mr. Ndolo stated that the situation needs to be contained as early as possible for the school to be able to post good results at the end of the year.
