A picture shared on social media showed the Siaya County Evaluation Test Mathematics paper with Governor Cornel Rasanga's photo pinned at the top right of the test paper.

Hivisasa.com could however, not independently verify whether it was true Mr Rasanga who is seeking for re-election had instructed school heads in the county to print the exam paper with his portrait photo.

By the time of publication of this story, it was also not clear, if it's true, why he made the instructions taking into account the fact that majority of students in high school do not vote since many do not vote as they are below the age of 18 and therefore do not have ID cards.

Those who posted comments on social media accused the county chief of interfering with school operations.

"Politics and education are notoriously mixed here," Frank Idewa posted on his official Facebook account.

"How can Rasanga's photo appear on the exam papers?"

Another blogger Kim Musau posted: "Siaya County Mock exam papers have the Governor's photo - Cornel Rasanga. Welcome to Kenya!"

Another post directed to television personality Lari Madowo read: "Yaayee! huyu Governor wa kwa kina @LarryMadowo wa Siaya, picha yake ni ya nini kwa paper ya exam? (That Governor of @LariMadowo from Siaya, what is his photo doing on the exam paper?"

Governor Rasanga will be seeking for re-election during the 2017 general election.

He is however, facing criticism from a section of MPs from the county who accuse him of mismanaging county resources.
