Residents took to social media to criticise the officers for using excessive force, calling for action to be taken against the culprits.
Here are some of their reactions:
“Huyo polisi hatua ichukuliwe. Is this the police force that is hoped to protect us? Nkt!” said Dan Njuguna.
“This is so bad the police must be held responsible,” posted Samwel Mwangi.
“Two wrongs don’t make things right.......assault is an act of cowardice just arrest someone and take him or her to face the law if he/she has wronged....Kiambu needs a county prayer day,” said Bonie En.
“Waititu is a one-term governor...He's using goons in Gatundu North eti kumaliza pombe.....just the other day these goons attacked a truck ferrying Summits drinks wakaiba pombe yote na kutoboa miguu....stop using jobless youths,” posted Edward Thuo.
"Now this guy will not be able to work for some time and he has responsibilities... Creating joblessness in the name of law. This Cartel for extorting money coz of new bar legislation better "eat" fast and quick because hakuna kisicho na mwanzo bila mwisho. The citizens are watching, when your muheshimiwa is out of power, tutapatana," posted Sammy Kiragu.
"Wooi the culprit must be brought to the book," said Julliet Dorothy.
"Jesus Christ...this is sooo painful..action to be taken ASAP," said Shiru George.
The Kiambu County Government has in the recent past been spearheading the fight against illicit brew in the county, a move that has seen a number of clubs being shut down for failing to apply for new licenses.
The County Assembly in March passed the Alcoholic Drinks Control Bill 2018 which seeks to control the liquor business in the county.
According to the Bill, nightclub owners will only be allowed to operate between 2pm to 3am on weekends.
