Some retailers in Turkana County have failed to reduce the state subsidy price for 2kg maize floor.
The government had recently placed controls on maize distribution in collaboration with millers to put a halt to rising prices and subsidised the price for the 2kg maize from sh175 to sh90.
Residents of Turkana County have raised concerns that they have not seen the effects of the price drop since they are still experiencing the expensive living standards and buying maize at sh175.
It has been reported that in various parts of the country some retailers ignored the Government directive for the flour to retail at Sh90 to charge an extra Sh85.
Speaking to one of the shopkeepers, said there is fear that prices could rise further.
