There was outrage after a GSU officer attached to President Uhuru Kenyatta's security team shot and killed his girlfriend Saturday evening over unknown reasons.
According to police reports at the Central police station, Police Constable Samuel Njoroge was later admitted at Kenyatta National Hospital in critical condition after attempting to kill himself too.
Other reports in The Star show that Njoroge killed Anne Wanjohi who operates an internet cafe known as Web Link Cyber in Nairobi's CBD before shooting himself in the chest and left bicep.

The incident has left Kenyans outraged, with some questioning the level of safety they enjoy sitting next to police officers.
"Human beings must stop investing too much emotional capital in matters love, politics and religion. The returns is not worth it. I recommend Daniel Goleman's Emotional Intelligence," said Derrick as quoted by the Star.

Jenrerari said: "Police men should return their weapons whenever they are not in duty. Considering how they have become reckless with these weapons, the procedure as from now should be that, they should only carry them when on duty."
Another observer, Vladimirovich, said: "No wonder some of these murderers go round assassinating others and shooting innocent children. It is like one of the qualifications is attaching no value to human life."
