A section of of youth from Maseno University have been angered by the recently released Uhuru-Raila dialogue team list.
The students feel the list was unfairly constructed and want the two leaders to address the issue.
They noted that they are part of the development agenda of this country, and don’t understand how they were locked out in such an important function.
They said that being at the university level, they should be accorded ‘respect’ in political matters and not being viewed as minors.
Here are some of their comments on the issue:
“I want to warn the two leaders, Uhuru and Raila that they have to recognize us. Even the University students have a stake in this country. How can such a very important function of the national government not involve the us?” poser Khisa Marathons.
“It is time we are heard and our voice appreciated by the national leaders. I am worried that we are being taken for granted. We want to be heard and represented,” noted Jasmine Chemoiywo.
“A nation without the young leaders is doomed. How are we supposed to become leaders tomorrow if we are not heard today?” posed Tony Kishoin.
“We ask Uhuru and Raila to ensure honorable comrades are factored into that list immediately otherwise you shall face the wrath of comrades’ power. We shall rally and conduct massive demonstrations,” warned Kimberly Ochieng.
