Outsiders were responsible for the violence that rocked parts of Narok County a few days ago.
Rift Valley regional coordinator Osman Warfa Thursday made the shocking revelations and absolved locals of having participated in the skirmishes.
Speaking in Olenguruone after visiting displaced families camping in the area, Warfa insisted that the violence was planned and executed by people outside the affected areas of Olpusimori, whose main motive was to see disruption of peaceful coexistence among communities living in the area.
At the same time, he said investigations were in top gear to bring all those who participated in the 3-day flare ups to book.
The skirmishes which pitted members of the Maasai and Kipsigis communities is alleged to have been triggered by retaliatory attacks following the killing of two herders in Sierra Leone area, Narok South.
Over 2,000 people were displaced after their houses were set ablaze by unknown arsonists.
