Illegal alcohol being destroyed in the past. [Photo/Standard.]More than 10 illicit brew makers and sellers have been arrested in Boroko Sub location in Kisii South Sub County in an illicit brew crackdown.
On Wednesday morning, while confirming the arrests at her office Bomariba ward location chief Triposa Orina said police with the help of Nyumba Kumi officials are still hunting more illicit brew dealers.
She said the crackdown will only stop once zero cases are recorded in the area.
“We will not risk losing our jobs just because of illegal businesses, interior CS Fred Matiang’I stated very clearly that illegal businesses should be fought to end and we are doing exactly that. Residents engaging in illegal dealings should stop before we catch up with them,” she said.
The administrator said police officers from Igonga police station will not spare anyone in the crackdown.
“We have enough police officers in place to help us in the fight against illicit brew especially chang’aa that has destroyed several families. Members of the public should report anyone engaging in the outlawed businesses to be arrested and taken to court,” she added.
