A total of 6157 new identity cards have been delivered in Tana River County with 1,627 new ones yet to be collected by the owners.
Speaking in a meeting with chiefs and IEBC officials, assistant registrar in the office of Tana River registry Fatuma Suleiman said that over 569 lost and found cards are still in the office, adding that over 4751 new identity cards have been given to chiefs.
Fatuma urged the owners of those identity cards to immediately collect them so that they register themselves in the ongoing voter registration exercise across the country.
"I would like to tell the owners of the ID cards to immediately have them and take part in the voter registration exercise," said Fatuma.
