Embu Senator Lenny Kivuti and Deputy Governor Dorothy Nditi have decamped from the Jubilee Party.
The two leaders, together with Mbeere North MP Charles Njagagua and 23 county MCAs have moved to Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
The leaders say there is no transparency in Jubilee leadership in Embu.
Senator Kivuti said he was persuaded by the locals to join Governor Mutua’s outfit.
He said the leaders who have dumped Jubilee are unhappy with some senior leaders in government, who have made the party “their property”.
"Whatever we do, we shall support Uhuru (Kenyatta) since we have no problem with him and we shall vote for him," Senator Kivuti said Saturday.
He revealed that Runyenjes MP Cecily Mbarire was also frustrated in the President’s party.
Mbarire has declared interest in Embu gubernatorial seat.
