Over 200 students at Kituro High School in Baringo Central were sent home following signs of alleged food poisoning.
According to the school's head teacher, Salina Rotich, the students who complained of stomach aches and headaches were sent to Kituro Health Centre for treatment prior to being sent home.
"We had more than 10 students on Monday who were complaining of stomach pains and headaches. The number increased the following day but they were treated and released to go home," Rotich said.
"The situation has been contained and some of the students who had gone home have since resumed and there is no cause for alarm," she added.
One medical officer at the health center revealed that over 50 students had tested positive for food poisoning while Baringo Central Public Health Officer Agnes Chesire confirmed the students tested negative for cholera.
Baringo County of Education Willy Machocho also confirmed that the supplier had been suspended.
