[Photo|Uasin Gishu County Government]Over 2000 litres of counterfeit alcohol was nabbed in Kahoya Estate, the outskirt of Eldoret town.Uasin Gishu County's Alcoholic Drinks Control Board, which has been fighting to sober up drinking by bringing order, has been working with the County Security Committee, an inter-agency workforce that has officers from both County and National Government to ensure illegal alcoholic drinks and joints are no more.O Wednesday afternoon, the board's officers discovered a rented house in Kahoya Estate, that sheltered hundreds of cartons of counterfeit alcohol brands.The three-roomed house is believed to have been a depot. However, other officers suspected that packaging is also done, following the discovery of a home-made dispenser, a 20 litre jerrican with a fixed tap.The brands were Trace Vodka, People Vodka, African Spear Vodka. The volumes of the 250ml bottles were suspect, with some filled to the brim and some of standard measure.A keen looker would realize that the contents had particles inside, as opposed to drinks packaged in authentic industries, whose products are clear.Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga, said one individual was arrested on Wednesday and would be arraigned in court on Friday.Chairman of the Board, Sila Boit said the board will not relent until illegal businesses in the liquor industry are no more.
