Over 300 bodaboda operators on Saturday traversed Kisumu county ferrying people to voter registration centres.
Accompanied by politicians, the operators carried those who were in far flung areas but had national ID cards to go register as voters as the mass voter registration exercise entered week three.
Kisumu Central parliamentary aspirant Richard Ogendo expressed his joy at the organisation.
“We registered a pretty good number today. Thanks to the 300 bodaboda guys who helped with the door to door Mashinani visit as we ferried people to and from the polling stations,” said Ogendo.
The politician has also been carrying out door to door campaigns and mobilisation to have people register in large numbers.
Kisumu County has been on the fore front appearing among the top 10 performers in the first week of voter registration.
Despite the low turnout in the first week, Coalition for Reforms and Democracy regions dominated the list of regions that have recorded the highest number of new voters with IDs but had not registered as at December 2015.
