Over 300 campaigners alleged to be allied to Uasin Gishu gubernatorial candidate Zedekiah Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki have switched allegiance and declared support to incumbent governor Jackson Mandago.

Led by Raymond Korir, the campaigners asked Buzeki to wait until 2022 when Mandago will have finished his two terms.

Addressing the press in Eldoret, Monday, the campaigners said Mandago had initiated many development projects across the county since 2013 and deserves to be voted in for a second term.

"We aren't saying Buzeki is a bad person but all we want is for him to be patient a little but until 2022," Korir said.

"The work that Mandago has done makes him deserve a second term and we are now declaring our total support to him," he added.

Mandago and Buzeki are engaged in a fierce battle for over 450,000 votes in the county.
