Mwangi directed all chiefs and their assistants in the area to convene public barazas and inform residents from their areas of jurisdiction to collect their IDs from the registrar's office.

Speaking at Gusii Stadium, during the marking of this year's Madaraka Day celebrations,Mwangi regretted that, despite the process of issuing of National IDs being made easy by the Government through the establishment of Huduma Centres across the country,it was worrying that applicants of the IDs failed to collect their documents promptly.

"It is worrying that,to date there are over 4300 National IDs uncollected from the Registrar of Persons in this County, yet formerly peple were complaining that the Government takes long to issue them with National IDs,"stated Mwangi.

Mwangi reminded members of the public that, unlike in the past when the process of issuing national IDS was slow due technological challenges,it is now timely with the establishment of Huduma services by the Government.
