Ndigu-ini Village in Ndeiya is one of the areas that will benefit from the Last Mile Connectivity Project in Kiambu County.
Speaking at Ndeiya on Saturday May 28, President Uhuru Kenyatta asked Ndeiya residents to register for the project to gain the maximum benefit.
Kenyatta had visited the area to inspect the implementation of the project accompanied by Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, Kiambu women Rep Anna Nyokabi, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichun’gwa and many other ward Representatives.
“I urge all the residents of Ndeiya to register with the Mile Connectivity Project to have electricity in their homes within the shortest time possible,” he said.
The president also said that every household is expected to pay only Sh15,000 for the connection.
“The Last Mile project is ensuring that every household is in a position to cater for the costs which is affordable,” he added.
Kenyatta toured many homes in the area where three homesteads benefitted with free electricity.
“I am humbled to host the president in my house together with other politicians,” said Wanjiru, a mother of four.
It was the last launch of the Mile Connectivity Project in Kiambu County.
