Over 5000 families will benefit from the water project initiated by the county governor William Kabogo in Kangoya and Ting’ang’a village in Kiambu Sub County.

Kiambu Town-Rockline Water Project is meant to benefit thousands of families who have been experiencing hardship in terms of water in the region.

The area has been experiencing water shortage for a long time being considered a semi arid location and poverty and hunger has been their trend of life.

The region had earlier benefited from the relief food donated by the Kiambu women rep Annah Nyokabi and seedlings to help the community till their lands and to tame increasing number of poverty which has become a cancer until Kabogo launched the water project.

The 100m3 water tanks which was funded by the county government according to Kabogo will benefit five thousand families within Kangoya, Ting’ang’a and Mutharaba villages which have been suffering over inadequate supply of water.

Kabogo said that his government is keener in eradicating poverty in the region and thus water is the essential key for the residents to help till their lands to benefit them in near future.

He urged residents to embrace the project and start venturing into farming activity to help the county in food production and to reduce cases of poverty.

He said that he will not seat back and see his people suffering due to lack of water and living a poor life something his government can change if only the residents are willing to work hand in hand with his government.

The county boss who was speaking on Wednesday in Kangoya and Ting’ang’a ,assured residents that he will not tire until Kiambu has a better living standard something he will be proud of.
