More than 80 boda boda riders from East Ward in Kangundo Sub-County will be trained and get valid licenses.

Area MCA Grace Munini Mutwiwa said the aim of the program is aimed at curbing road accidents.

“The aim of the training is to equip riders in my area with training because many of them are untrained and a risk to themselves and their passengers,” Mutwiwa said.

She added that all riders in the ward will undergo a one month training after which they will be evaluated and given licenses to help them while operating the roads.

“The program will see all boda boda operators without licenses undergoing the training and get licenses. Boda boda officials should help in making the list of all the riders who will get the training and forward it to me,” she added.

The MCA said the project will be sponsoered by Abiria Tugutuke Foundation, an organization which trains users on road safety. She was speaking on Friday at Kivi ABC church.
