The acting Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General said the public has lost confidence in the Jubilee administration over its ‘appetite’ to loot public funds.

“Ever since they came into power, President Kenyatta has overseen the theft of over Sh2 Trillion in broad daylight in what is now referred to as ‘Kukula Nyama Policy’ (meat eating policy),” noted Zani.

The accusation comes after Cord leader Raila Odinga linked President Uhuru Kenyatta's family members and close friends to the Sh5.2 billion mega corruption scandal at the Ministry of Health.

“The theft of money meant for the sick particularly by close family members and friends of the president is barbaric, archaic and unacceptable. The president must take responsibility of the theft in the Ministry of Health since those involved are his blood relatives,” she added.

According to the internal audit report at the Ministry of Health, Sandales International Ltd, which was paid Sh41 million has Uhuru's sister and cousin as directors.

Kathleen Kihanya, who is a cousin to the President and also the Managing Director of Sandales International, said it is wrong for some Kenyans to be demonised simply because they are related to the President.

“It is true, this is my company. But, we have done nothing wrong. We have done a clean business and there are documents to prove that,” said Kihanya.
