Mbugi on Friday said increased motorcycle accidents have been caused by over speeding riders.

He said the government won’t sit and watch innocent passengers using motorbikes lose lives in road accidents due to careless riding.

“It has come to our attention that most of the riders don’t have licenses as required by the law.

The crackdown will be done starting January 2018 to arrest those who don’t meet road requirements and this will help end road carnage,” he said.

He asked members of the public to report any speeding rider to authorities for action to be taken.

“The public should not keep quiet, speeding riders should be reported to police so that such people to be investigated if they possess the required qualification to operate on roads,” he stated.
