Kisumu Deputy Governor Dr. Ochieng' Owili accompanied by a team from the county government on Sunday joined faithful of St. Lawrence Alango Catholic Church in Kisumu East for a church service.
He later presided a fundraiser for building and furnishing the church which saw over Sh700,000 raised.
Speaking at the function the leaders reiterated their attacks on the President Uhuru Kenyatta, saying he was an illegitimate leader.
Owili also passed Governor Prof. Peter Anyang' Nyong'o's best wishes to the people of Kisumu County as they begin the Lenten celebrations.
He announced that the governor will be coming back into the country on Tuesday, February 13, from the US and into the county on Friday, February 16, 2018.
"All are invited to come and help welcome him at the Kisumu International Airport on that Friday at 2 pm and thereafter to an interdenominational prayer at the Freedom Square (formerly Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground)," he said.
Also present was Nyando MP Jared Okelo, Nyalenda A MCA Jackton Ogendo, Water and Environment CeC Salmon Orimba and a team from the county government of Kisumu.
