Following reports of Kenya Defense Force spokesman Joseph Owuoth being alive, his family is still not convinced of his well being.

According to the family they have received no word from him since Sunday, which has left them questioning reports of him being alive.

“Why hasn't he communicated with us? Why can’t we reach him on phone?,” Owuoth’s sister asked as reported by The Star.

The spokesman has been told to come forward and address the nation in order to put all questions to rest.

At the moment things are not so clear with the family having not heard from Owuoth, amongst claims that he is fine according to a phone interview.

“ODM leaders in Nyanza have also demanded an explanation and investigations into the official's whereabouts,” she added.

According to Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o, the last time the family spoke to Owuoth was on Sunday.

"The family is so worried … the spokesman was forced to go on leave. They have been making calls but no positive news is coming," the Senator said.

It is believed that KDF spokesman Owuoth confirmed his well-being through a phone interview where he was quoted saying;

"I am at work. What is happening? Nonsense...nonsense...I am doing fine. Tell them I am at work, everything is fine... there is nothing wrong...I have not even been to Kisumu..there is nothing to worry about..."

The family is still awaiting word from Owuoth.
