Kisii County residents have been advised not to recycle leaders who have failed before in August elections.

South Mugirango MP, Manson Oyongo, who eyeing for Kisii Gubernatorial seat, advised residents to make sure that they vote visionary leaders who  have development record.

Oyongo added that Kisii County was lagging behind development and youths languishing in poverty due to recycling of leaders.

Oyongo, who has been MP for two terms accused area Governor James Ongwae of corruption and nepostism.

"We must be very careful when electing leaders. I am shocked that still we can prefer incompetent leaders whom we voted out many years ago," he said.

"The county will continue lagging behind development if something special is not done. We must wake up and elect development conscious leaders," he added.

Oyonko is set to wrestle Governor Ongwae on a KNC party ticket in August elections which senator Chris Obure will also take part in on a Jubilee Party ticket.
