Packaging material manufacturer Statpack Industries has entered into an agreement with German technology firm Minebea Intec to supply their inspection and weighing machinery in Kenya.
Statpack chief executive officer Mayur Shah said the firm will be the sole distributor of Minebea’s factory X-ray inspection machines and weighing scales in the Kenyan market under the new deal which kicks off immediately.
The inspection machinery is used to screen finished products for foreign objects before dispatch to retail chains, and is mainly used in the food and pharmaceutical industry.
“The X-ray inspection kit will help safeguard industrial machinery from costly damage when metallic objects find their way into production equipment for chemical, plastics, recycling, rubber, wood, power plants, mining, tobacco and clay,” said Mr Shah in a statement.
“It will also safeguard consumers from harmful elements that could have bypassed the human eye during production.”
Statpack manufactures among other products packing tapes, paper cores and tubes, cling film, aluminium foil and food containers.
Minebea has production centres and aftersales services in 20 countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North and Latin America.
