A plane made an emergency landing at Moi International Airport, Mombasa, breathing sigh of relief to passengers.
The plane belonging to Germany's Condor Airline made the landing shortly after taking from the airport on Tuesday at 9.30am.
Confirming the incident, Noah Mwivanda, the Coast regional police commandant said the plane which was taking tourists to Zanzibar for holiday landed after two crows (birds) flew into one of its engines.
"The plane landed safely at the airport and there were no injuries. I am informed that there was a bird strike but all the passengers are safe. They are awaiting further instructions," said the police boss.
"It was picking up some passengers here in Mombasa before taking off to Zanzibar. The plane was in transit from Frankfurt, Germany," added Moi International Airport Manager Walter Agong.
