There was panic at Naivasha GK prison after an inmate serving life sentence succumbed to TB.
The middle-aged man whose name is yet to be released by police officers at the facility was admitted to the prison health center where he succumbed to the illness.
A source who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that the deceased had been segregated for more than four months after he was diagnosed with the disease.
"He has been in and out of hospital for the last four months. But, unfortunately he died," said the source.
The source added that the health standards at the prison are too low for one to survive when attacked by a serious disease.
"The prison's health center lack drugs. When one is admitted or she is only given pain killers. The services offered are poor for one to survive when attacked with diseases such as cholera,TB, cancer," noted the source.
