With just 43 days to the August general election, the ruling Jubilee Party and the National Super Alliance (Nasa) are doing the final touches to woo supporters of the opposing camps to vote for them.
However, the recent decamping of some key leaders in Narok and Kajiado counties from Jubilee to Nasa has sent shockwaves in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp.
The latest opinion maker in the Maa community to dump Jubilee for Nasa is Tarayia ole Kores, who is reportedly a close friend of the President.
After he moved to Raila Odinga’s camp, Kores was fired as the chairman of the Kenya Meat Commission by Uhuru.
Uhuru appointed Senteu Ntoross as his successor two days ago.

Kores has been attending Nasa rallies and has also endorsed the re-election of incumbent Governor David Nkedianye of Nasa against Jubilee’s Joseph ole Lenku.
He lost in the jubilee gubernatorial primaries. He claimed he was rigged out.
Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery was initially supporting Kores, who is now in Nasa.
Some of Maasai elders have accused Deputy President William Ruto and CS Nkaissery for interference in Kajiado and Narok politics while ignoring the concerns of key leaders and community grievances.
Kores has warned Jubilee of a defeat come August 8.
