ODM leader Raila Odinga could be battling for his future in Homabay country following an outcry from protestors who locked all roads leading to the South Nyanzan town of Homabay.

Protests ensued most parts of the vast country after ODM County Elections board announced incumbent Homabay Governor Cyprian Awiti as outright winner in the hotly contested elections.

Kaspul MP Oyugi Magwanga came second after garnering slightly over 14,000 votes compared to Awiti’s 46,000.

And angry protestors accused Mr. Odinga of allegedly infiltrating in the nomination exercise by favoring his lieutenants.

“We are going to vote Uhuru Kenyatta because Raila is taking us for granted. He cannot impose leaders on us even after we have spoken in the ballot,” said Japhet Omondi.

He added: “Awiti has just lost but they have declared him a winner. It is practically impossible that there were more voters voting Governor than even senators. Odinga cannot determine our destiny and we shall teach him in August,” he said.

Although no official communication from NEB has been made, elections of Senator Moses Kajwang and Gwasssi MP John Mbadi have also been disputed.
