[Photo Courtesy]The Kenya National Union of Nurses (Knun) has dismissed reports by the Council of Governors (CoG), that 60 per cent of the striking nurses have resumed duty.Knun Secretary General Seth Panyakoo has indicated that nationwide nurses strike is still oncourse and that nurses are yet to resume work, except for a few counties such as Nandi, which resolved the stalemate with the nurses. He accused the National government and CoG, whose chairman is Turkana Governor Josephat Nanok, of derailing talks to end the strike, saying nurses will not go back to work, if their demands are not met.According to Nanok, only 40 per cent of the nurses are still on strike, and that CoG is working hard to ensure they join their colleagues, to ensure provision of health services in the counties.
