Parents have been challenged to report if any case of a school principal who will ask for more school fees than it is required.
Kisii Central sub-county director of education, Charles Nyaribo has said that the fees structure is clear for all government schools.
Speaking in his office on Monday, he said that principals are not allowed to ask for more school fees more than it is being required in the fees structure.
He, therefore, advised parents to report any principal who will demand more school fees from them by visiting his office since it is free and always welcomes the grievances from parents.
The recommend school fees that secondary school students are allowed to pay Sh9,374 for day schooling, Sh53,553 for boarding and Sh37,210 for special needs schools per year.
“I wish to advise parents that our offices are always open for such grievances we would like them to report to us any case so that necessary steps can be taken against any principal who will break the law,” said Nyaribo.
This comes along as most parents are still crying by saying that they are paying more than it is required.
In addition, the director said that they are devoted to making the education sector achieve its goals.
“We are devoted to the county education office to make sure that we achieve our goals in education," said Nyaribo.
"We urge all stakeholders to work together in achieving them,” he added.
