Parents in Kibera slums have been urged to buy their form one joining children textbooks and story books at this point before the prices shoot up.
Speaking on Friday morning at her book shop at Laini Saba business centre, Linet Karanja, said parents whose children are joining form one this year should hurry up and buy school books now that they are cheap in all bookshops.
''It is advisable for parents to do early preparations for their children joining secondary schools to avoid late rushes as many of the school items such as text books, uniforms, shoes, mattresses, blankets, boxes and bags price are affordable at this time of the year,'' she said.
Ms. Karanja said that at her bookstore she sells all types of books and now that the month is ending, she is selling them at an affordable price.
As per now, she is selling a text book at sh350 but she is sure that the price will shoot up very soon.
