Parents have been advised to closely monitor the movement of their children, especially during this festive season.

Uasin Gishu Gospel Ministers chairman Bishop Wilson Kurui says this will help them easily identify behavior changes and take appropriate actions before the situation is of hands.

Speaking in Eldoret on Sunday, Kurui said children are vulnerable to being misled by their peers hence need for a close guidance from the parents.

"There are many things that happen during festive seasons and children may end up being swayed into activities that might destroy their future and this is why parents need to closely monitor them," said Bishop Kurui.

"It's the parents' duty to know the whereabouts of their children and allocate time to be with them regularly as this will enable them to notice any unusual changes and provide necessary advice," he added.

The Jesus Love Ministries Bishop further asked parents not give a lot of freedom to their children as "this exposes them to various risks like engaging in drug abuse, alcohol and even early pregnancies to girls."
