The role of parents is quite clear. They are there to love, care and provide for their children.
Although, there are some parents who can be dictators towards their children. A good example is when the child has been taken to school and the parent forces them to take a certain unit both in high school and university. It is a waste of time and money for a parent to force their kids to undertake a certain course at the university. This is nothing but dictatorial.
I have heard cases where children decide to undertake certain courses at university or college but later own work in a different field not in line with what they studied. If your child is talented let them do what they want to, forcing them only makes you content. I don’t see any need for a parent taking their child so that you can manipulate them into doing what you want.
It is very important as a parent to sit down with your kid, discuss what he wants to be in life and guide him accordingly. Using force or dictatorship will only ruin the relationship between you and your child be very careful because the strained relationship can extend your other family members. Be guiders not dictators.
