The Kisii county through the ministry of health has added their weight on the on-going polio vaccination campaign on appealing to the Kisii residents to avail their children who are five years and below to receive the vaccine.

Speaking at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital, the Cabinet executive Member for the health ministry, Sarah Omache, requested the parents and guardian to ensure that their children are treated for the polio, saying that those church leaders who have been misleading the residents in regard to the vaccine are just into their personal interest.

She reminded the public to be express accountability and responsibility in ensuring their young ones are well taken care of since the polio campaign is for the common good of the child’s health and it is to counter deformation is usually poses a hazard to such tender aged children.

He further thanked those parents and guardian who have shown up with their children for the administering of the vaccine, and requested them to inform their friends who seem to carry the evil mind over the matter.

This comes barely a day after it was reported by a section of media that some of the Catholic Church Fathers were involved in inciting their faithfuls against getting the children to the health officials to be administered with the vaccine.
