Thika parents have been warned to tame their children from dreadful associates this holiday period as students embark on the April month of the school closure.
Thika west Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Jeremiah Gicheru who was speaking in his office in Thika township ward said that he has deployed many police officers in the area to curb the minors in night clubs in Thika town and other renown stripping clubs in the sub county.
He said that he will not tire to revoke the licenses from the night clubs which allow under age to dance in their tunes insisting that he will not relent in making arrest to the minors.
The DCC has fired warning to parents to be aware of the whereabouts of their children especially since the security of the country is questionable of the terror attack.
“The security is not stable thus I urge parents to be aware of their childrens doings and make them avoid public places and instead sit down and study,” said DCC
He has urged parents to involve their children in activities which will keep the busy and from trouble since his officers have cracking the whip in the region.
Gicheru said advocated parents to offer tuition classes to their children or take them in rural areas to enjoy their holiday instead of languishing and loitering in the streets of the town.
The DCC said that children are the future leaders and being involved in drugs and substance abuse will only ruin a generation in line with vision 2030.
He said cases of crimes have always been on the rise this period of the month and vows to work hand in hand with area OCPD Shadrack Maithya to tame hooligans in the streets of the sub county.
