Angry parents of Ritibo Primary School in Kitutu Masaba called upon the government to sack a school head who allegedly beat and injured a class eight pupil.
Speaking on Tuesday they alleged the Peter Monubi has been running the institution as his own property by beating children even after committing explainable offenses.
According to them, the government should take a stern action against the administrator as a warning to other teachers who continued to use corporal punishment means of discipline children despite being banned by the National Assembly.
“Monubi is a monster and that is evident after he beat Irene Makori badly and the girl has been rushed to Kapkatet Hospital for further treatment. He should be sacked with immediate effect if at all the government respects its own policies,” said Stanly Makana.
“He is running the institution with impunity and he must serve as an example to other teachers who have persistently embraced that mode of disciplining children despite being banned by the government,” added Charles Kerauni.
However, Monubi defended himself from the accusations and asked those with evidence to take him to court.
“I did not beat the girl. She has been having complications and I only ordered her and some other colleagues to take three laps at the field for coming late to class. She only fainted and I think those calling for my sackings are trying to achieve something. I am ready to face them in court,” he said.
