County council officer, Martin Otundo at Laini Saba market has cautioned parents against child labour this August holiday.
He said that if any child will be found in the market hawking and selling goods on behalf of their parents, the parents responsible will be arrested and charged for child labour.
Speaking at the market, he said that children should be allowed to rest since it is holiday and refresh their minds before they resume schools in the third term.
"Parents will now take advantage of their children to send them to sell and hawk items in the market. Such parents will be arrested. School going children should be allowed to rest before they resume school in the next 2 weeks," he noted.
He added that many children have dropped to school due to early child labor which makes children love money most than going to school hence drops school at tender ages to engage in businesses.
