Machakos deputy county commissioner Sam Ojwang has cautioned parents against condemning their children who fail in examinations.
Speaking in Machakos town on Friday, Ojwang said success in life is not going to the university.
He said success in life is about what one does with his life, "persistent hard work leads to success in life."
Ojwang urged parents to support their children's talents which may benefit them in future.
Ojwang said most successful sports, business and religious personalities did not have grade As or B's in KCSE but were wise enough to identify their talents and worked hard to prove themselves worthy.
"Sports personalities like Christiano Ronaldo can feed over 1,000 people all their life till death and after resurrection without depleting his accounts," Ojwang said.
He pleaded with youths from Machakos County not to fall prey to get rich quick schemes that threaten the vulnerable unemployed youth.
Ojwang noted that alcohol, drug abuse and terrorism pose a greater risk for the youth to realize fulfillment of their dreams.
He urged the vulnerable group not to emulate bad examples by the older generation and instead focus on how to live life to the fullest productively.
Ojwang said drugs and alcoholism result to diseases like HIV and AIDS which have no cure hence drive many youths to early graves for leading irresponsible sexual behaviors.
