Speaking in Thika town on Friday during the official opening of a law court in the area, the MCA said that children with a lot of money end up committing petty crimes when they are broke.

“When children are used to money and they lack at one time or another, they end up getting other sources of acquiring money, stealing being among them,” Mwangi said.

According to the ward representative, most of the youths in the area will be arraigned in the county court this coming festive season and parents should be on the look out to avoid such a behaviour.

Kiambu Governor William Kabogo also warned the youth against committing petty crimes which can be avoided if parents are vigilant and strict on their children.

Kabogo challenged the youths to break the law and face the wrath of the county court because the main reason for the establishment was to bring justice closer to the people youths being the priority.

“This is not a public hall for Kabogo, it’s a law enforcement chamber that will see all the petty crimes in this area reduced and brought to book,” Kabogo said.
