Parents have welcomed the decision of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to transfer over 500 headteachers across the country.Association's national chairman Nicholas Maiyo says the move is meant to improve on the education system in the country.Speaking in Eldoret on Wednesday, Maiyo dismissed those criticizing the TSC for not consulting them."TSC is an employer of every teacher in this country and it does not need to consult with anybody before making decisions like transfers," said Mr. Maiyo."A teacher has an agreement with TSC so whatever any other person says contrary to the position by the employer is not binding," he added. There has been an uproar from some church leaders and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) accusing TSC of not consulting them over the transfers.About 557 teachers have received transfer letters in a move TSC say is aimed at enhancing national cohesion and bolstering professionalism and commitment in the teaching profession.*Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
