National Parents Association Chairman Nicholas Maiyo has warned parents against denying their children their right to education.
He said it is the right of every child to access basic education as enshrined in the constitution.
"Despite the national government offering free and compulsory education, over 6,000,000 students across the country don’t go to school," he said in Eldoret town, Monday.
"Parents should ensure they provide education to their children since it is the only investment that a parent can leave to his heirs. Education is the only equalizer between the rich and poor," he added.
He, however, warned parents who don't take the children to school those these days are numbered.
"I urge chiefs and their assistants to take stern actions against parents denying their children right to education
We want to see all children going to school no matter their financial background," noted Maiyo.
He urged NASA leaders to stop their planned demonstrations since it we disrupt the ongoing KCSE leading to poor concentration thus poor results.
