Parents of Canaan Royal academy in Turbo say they want answers on how their children's KCPE results got cancelled. The furious parents, who assembled at the school on Monday evening, said they wanted the school administration to tell them what happened during the exams. "We want to be told what happened. If they leaked exams to our children, action should be taken against them", said Ann Wangoi, whose daughter sat for KCPE at the school. English and Kiswahili results got cancelled after allegations that the two papers were leaked during exam time. The first pupil, Rivaldo Kong'walei, scored 216 marks in three subjects (mathematics, science and social studies/CRE) while Trizzer Mirenja came second with 202 marks. The results for all the 23 candidates were cancelled. Efforts by the parents to reach any teacher on phone were futile. “I am not the one to give the results, the headteacher cannot be found on phone,” said the director on phone. “We are coming back to bring this school down to ashes,” said one parent. During this time, there was nobody at the school to address the angry parents. “We will demonstrate,” said another parent, only identified as Peter, before adding: “The high amount of school fees we paid in this school should be given back to us.”
