Parents have been asked to free their land to allow young people venture into farming.

Youth Enterprise Fund officer in Subukia constituency Peter Kimani said the fund's objective is to economically empower young people by increasing economic opportunities hence participating in nation building.

“One way of doing this is through dairy, fish, greenhouse or other forms of farming activities. However, the hindrance that youths face in realising the goal is parents. Some parents have not allowed their children to utilise the land. Others have sold the land leaving no room for cultivation,” Kimani said.

The fund officer added that they have been training youth on how to venture into agribusiness in order to enhance their livelihoods.
